Solar PV

Rooftop solar that makes power for the home, planned as part of a wider fabric-first package.

What it does

Solar, in plain English

Solar panels on the roof turn daylight into electricity for the home. That helps reduce bills by covering some of the power you would otherwise buy from the grid during the day.

Why it matters

What you get from doing it properly

  • Your roof helps pay for daytime electricity use.

  • Works well with battery storage so more of that power is used in the evening.

  • Stronger results when the house is already holding heat properly.

How it works

We survey the roof, design a neat array, then fit it.

The panels go on once we know the roof, the electrics and how the house uses power. Battery can go on in the same visit if it belongs there.

Time on site

Typically 1–2 days on the roof

Survey and design come first. Scaffolding or roof access is arranged around the install. A larger array, or awkward access, takes longer.

  1. 01

    Roof and electrics

We check the roof covering, structure, orientation and the consumer unit so the array is sized for this house, not a brochure.

  2. 02

    Design and install

A neat, MCS-certified array. Most domestic jobs are a day or two on the roof once the kit is ready.

  3. 03

    Commission and hand over

We commission the system and leave you with simple guidance on generation, not a manual you will never open.

Accredited

MCS is the accrediting body

Solar PV has to be installed by an MCS certified contractor if you want the work to count for quality schemes and most funding. That is us.

  • MCS

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is the standard for solar PV installers in the UK. Westdale North is MCS certified.

  • TrustMark

MCS solar work is lodged through TrustMark, the government-endorsed quality mark.

Questions people ask

Straight answers on solar before you enquire. If yours is not here, ring us.

Typically 1–2 days on the roof for a domestic array, after survey and design. Scaffolding or roof access can sit around that. We confirm the programme once we have seen the house.
